ABOUT THIS PROJECT

We are James Moors and Kort McCumber, a songwriting and performing duo from Wisconsin and Colorado. We have been touring and performing independently for over 10 years as solo artists. We met at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in 2005 and shortly thereafter began writing songs together. In 2009 we formed our duo, Moors and McCumber to perform the songs that we have written together. Since then we've had the good fortune to tour much of the U.S. and Ireland.

It used to be that you would work your butt off to get a record deal with a major label that would in turn provide resources for recording, promotion and distribution. Although that formula still exists, it is in short supply and just doesn't sound as interesting or as exciting as being funded by our fans.

So with Kickstarter as our partner we are asking you for your support in releasing our new recording, Gravity. We believe that Gravity is the strongest collection of songs and performances either of us have been a part of. Gravity is the result of a seemingly non stop tour over the course of 2011 that took us from the West to the Southeast, to the Midwest, then to the Southwest, back to the Southeast, to Ireland and finally to the Northeast where we landed in a cozy recording studio in the middle of Vermont. With the help of our good friend and co-producer, Jim Gilmour, we have recorded 10 new original songs and a  cover of one of our favorites, Ellis Paul's 3,000 miles.

We would like to raise enough money to pay for this recording, the mastering, the artwork, and the duplication. Having this project funded, by you our friends and fans, will allow us to reinvest our sales into promotion so that we might reach a larger audience.

At a minimum we hope you'll pre-order Gravity digitally or as a hard copy. However, to motivate and inspire you to dig a bit deeper and to reward you for doing so we have designed some creative and exciting packages for all donation levels.

Thank You
